Options For Roll Off Storage Containers

You need extra space to store your items but you not want to rent space in a storage facility. You probably want to be able to access your items any time. Or you may be concerned about the security of your items and want them close to your home or business.

Roll off storage containers are an option as these can be transported to your site of choice. Your choice of equipment rentals will be determined by a number of factors:

The Space

Space is a major consideration when you want to rent a roll off container. Storage containers come in varying widths, starting at 5', but the length will normally be 20' or 40'. However, other sizes may be available according to needs.

Consider the volume of goods you want to store as well as the size of your site. You do not want to end up with a container that is too wide for your site. You also do not want to pay for space you won't use.

Doors

Most storage containers have one door on one side. However, depending on the nature of your business, you may want to access the container from both ends. In that case, go for a container with doors on both sides.

Transportation

How do you intend to transport the container? You will need a truck to transport the container through a flat-bed, tilt-bed or roll off mechanism. A flatbed mechanism is cheapest but you will need a forklift. If you cannot get one, then go for a truck with a roll-off mechanism.

When considering transportation to your site, the slope and the state of the road leading to the site are important. Some companies will only deliver your container if the road surface is flat and smooth.

Cost

The cost of buying or renting a roll off container is just the beginning. There are other costs that you need to factor in. These include transportation, foundation, any extra locks, ventilation and permits, if required in your area.

Duration

Where do you plan to place the container? Placing it on bare ground will expose it to water and moisture causing it to rust and deteriorate faster. Consider erecting a foundation on which to place it. This is especially important if you are planning on keeping it permanently, or for a long time.

Whether for the short-term or long-term, roll-off containers provide you with that much-needed extra space, without having to remodel your office or home. Contact an equipment rental company, like Wirtz Rentals CO, for more help.

I started thinking more seriously about how to perfect my company about a month ago, and it was really interesting to see how much there was to do. Within a few weeks, I had changed a few things about my plan, and it was nice to see things transform into a brighter future. I wanted to start up a blog to help other people to create a stronger company, so check it out.
